Irina Prokhorova and Sergei Kovalevsky


Irina Prokhorova, the editor of the New Literature Review, will answer questions from deputy director of the Krasnoyarsk Museum Centre Sergei Kovalevsky.

Irina Prokhorova is a philologist, culture historian, editor and publisher and was the founder in 1992 of the first independent philological magazine, New Literature Review. Since then it has been supplemented with a book publishing business, the magazines Neprikosnovennyi Zapas (Emergency Reserve) and Teoriya Mody (Fashion Theory), the annual conference Russian Sauna Readings and a series of other projects.

Irina has been heavily involved in charity work, in 2004 acting as the initiator of the establishment of the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation. Irina is a laureate of the Russian National Prize in Literature and Art, recipient of the Liberty Prize for contribution to the promotion of Russian-American cultural ties and a Knight of France’s Order of Arts and Letters.

Sergei Kovalevsky is a curator, designer and deputy director for design and research at the Krasnoyarsk Museum Centre. Since 1997, Sergei acted as a curator of seven Krasnoyarsk Museum biennales, and as a designer organised over 20 museum projects and exhibitions in Siberia and Moscow. Sergei has authored more than 50 papers on modern art and museology and more than 30 papers on his own creations.
