A surrealist, post-modern western, shot in black-and-white. The Grand Duchess’ lover, who goes by the charactonym “The Pusher,” spends the entire film trying to get rid of the hero, Kaspar Hauser.
Writer-director Davide Manuli said he was inspired by the following films: “El Toro” (1970) directed by Alejandro Jodorowsky, “Stalker” (1979) directed by Andrei Tarkovsky, “Alphaville” (1965) directed by Jean-Luc Godard, and “Dead Man” (1995) directed by Jim Jarmusch.
“La Leggenda di Kaspar Hauser” was screened at the Rotterdam International Film Festival, the Copenhagen International Film Festival CPH:PIX, Hamburg’s FilmFest festival, the Stockholm International Film Festival, and others.
