The partnership between the Praktika Theater and Strelka continues this summer, with the theater staging two premieres at Strelka: the play in verse «Stikhi pro Moskvu» («Poems About Moscow») and the verbatim play «Babushki» («Old Women»).

«Stikhi pro Moskvu» is a play in verse composed of works of four contemporary poets: Yelena Fanailova, Vera Polozkova, Fyodor Svarovsky and Andrei Rodionov. The play is about how life treats the poets in the large and not always friendly city. «Moscow is a way station—after all, we’ve all long been travelers, but it still hasn’t worked out to leave here for good. Without that energy, no matter how consuming, dark, and oppressive it is, survival is difficult,» Vera Polozkova says in describing the play.

Director: Edward Boyakov

Starring: Pavel Artemyev, Irina Mikhailovskaya, Vera Polozkova, and Andrei Rodionov
