«The main character of the play decides to make plastic surgery for his career development. Its stunning results lead to a desaster: his individual beauty is replicated and turned into a well-selling commodity. The play is about the world of external pseudo-beauty – a model of the nowadays civilization which has camouflaged the unsightly human nature by etiquette and political correctness».

Marius von Mayenburg is a German playwright, a student of Sarah Kein. He was born in Munich in 1972 and studied Old German at university in Munich before moving to Berlin in 1992, where he did a course in playwriting at the Hochschule der Künste from 1994 to 1998. In 1995 he had a scholarship at the Münchner Kammerspiele, in 1998 became a member of the artistic direction team at the Baracke Deutsches Theater in Berlin. In 1999 he went with Thomas Ostermeier to work as Artistic Director and Playwright-in-Residence at the Berliner Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz.
