Emotional Landscapes

Part of: Telling the City

Glasgow University Professor Hayden Lorimer, architect and editor of the journal «Project Russia», Sergey Sitar, art-critic David Riff and architects Ilya Voznecensky, Aleksey Kononenko and Igor Bury discuss the idea of psychogeography and how the urban environment influences a person’s lifestyle and behaviour.

Sergey Sitar speaks about one of Russia’s first instances of the use of the city’s psychogeography, the «East–West Passage», during which participants spent 12 hours crossing Moscow on foot, recording changes in the physical features and the psychological atmosphere. Hayden Lorimer will share his own experience of psychogeography, gained during long jogs through the city of Glasgow.
