I found out about Strelka a long long time ago, but I never thought I would apply here. But then, I think it was May or something like that, I had a friend who told me it was actually a really good school. Then I started to research and check out information and I really liked the opening speech by Rem Koolhaas which I heard. From that moment I was inspired.

Before that I was studying architecture and when I finished my Master’s degree I wasn’t sure what to do next and I thought it [Strelka] was a great platform to develop myself a little bit further.

I didn’t know much [about Moscow], but I liked Russian movies very much and all the time I wanted to come and see the city, but I didn’t have opportunities. The city is huge, it’s full of surprises and it’s a rough city, it’s not very nice, but that’s exactly what I like about it.

After Strelka I think I will continue to be an architect, I’m not sure which kind, maybe I will write. But I will be an architect for sure.

Strelka for me is not a school, definitely not an architecture school or university. It’s kind of a node of networks or a platform, but definitely not an educational facility.
