Creative Mornings is an international free monthly breakfast series for creative types. Thousands of creative professionals attend CreativeMornings events around the globe every month. The first “smart breakfast” was held in Moscow on July 26th.

Each Creative Mornings event includes a 20 to 30 minutes lecture and a free coffee!

Attendees, who register for the event at the beginning of the week, arrive at 8:30AM. Once inside, they enjoy a complimentary breakfast. Around 9:00AM, the lecture starts. After a 20 to 30 min presentation and 10-20min Q&A, attendees mingle and linger before taking off for work.

The second Creative Mornings event in Moscow was held on August 23 at Strelka Institute for media, architecture and design. The global theme in all Creative Mornings chapters in August is Urbanism.

Our speakers at Creative Mornings Moscow in August were Oleg Shapiro and Dmitry Likin, founders of the renowned architectural studio Wowhaus. Among the most known projects by studio Wowhaus are Strelka Institute itself, the modernized Gorky Park with Pioneer, an open-air cinema, Olive Beach, a skating rink in Sokolniki, the new Bauman garden.

Oleg Shapiro and Dmitry Likin talked about the design of public spaces and the modern city, about the role and tasks of the modern architects and the necessary ability to easily switch from designing a city lamp to solving large-scale urban problems. The founders of Wowhaus studio also explained their vision of the permanently changing city architecture and the overall philosophy of the studio, as well as the ways of creating a harmonious urban environment.
