Dutch designer Jurgen Bey (Studio Makkink & Bey) will give a lecture on the design of public spaces. Bey is known as being a critical designer who takes on unexpected tack in attempting to make sense of the world. The results of this process are called radical, insane, and provocative. Bey is famous for his collaboration with Droog Design, known for its radical approach to interior and product design. For example, Jurgen Bey’s tree-trunk bench for Droog is sold as a set of bronze chair backs, while a fallen tree is to be found in the woods by a customer on his own.
