Studio Banana

The architects and designers Key Portilla-Kawamura and Ali Ganjavian are once again paying a visit to Strelka. Last year they came to talk about their interpretation of design, and this year they promise to teach how to identify original solutions in record time by making handmade models, using glue, cardboard, scissors and other instruments. They teach this method to their students at their design firm, Studio Banana, in an enormous basement in Madrid, where they also hold exhibitions, lectures and workshops and where young artists, designers and architects do their work. Not only architects and designers, but also artists, photographers, and musicians are invited to participate in the workshop by Portilla-Kawamura and Ganjavian at Strelka. The workshop will be limited to 12 participants, with work to take place in small groups of 2-3 people. At 6:30 p.m. on June 2, a roundtable discussion will be held after the conclusion of the workshop in order to examine its results. That event that will be open to all those who wish to participate.
