Should designers of the future be highly-specialized professionals, or skilled generalists? Should our education system foster technological innovation or creativity and inspiration? Can combine the best of academia, business and society in a truly interdisciplinary education system? How can defend ourselves against information overload and sharpen our design sensibilities? Tuula Teeri, president of Aalto University, will address these and other questions in a lecture at Strelka.

Teeri changed the way we think about design education when she oversaw the merger of the Helsinki University of Technology, the Helsinki School of Economics, and the University of Art and Design Helsinki. The result, Aalto University, brings aspiring designers, economists and engineers together under one roof to create the specialists of the future.
